| BRITISH TENNIS MEMBERSHIP All members please go to our new page British Tennis LTA. TREASURE HUNT Saturday 14th June. A great day was had on Saturday when eight teams entered the Bertram Treasure Hunt, answering cryptic clues while they argued their way round a two hour walking course. Everyone enjoyed it and there was some stiff competition for the prizes. Winners were Jon and Val Morgan who came home as the last pair out to just pip the ladies first team representatives - Liz, Shona and Helen. The other prize was won by the Hubbard Family who now have no excuses with the compass they were presented with. The catering afterwards was excellently presented - our thanks to Karen. Hawaiian Night on 12th July - Cancelled (apparently too many gone to Hawaii on holiday this weekend!) Telephone: 0774 5013758 Bringing changes and moving forward in 2008 If you have not yet seen the club, there are some exciting changes and improvements to the club facilities. The club house has been decorated inside and out, cleared and refurbishments completed. The courts have been professionally cleaned by a contractor. There are now several noticeboards containing useful information about tournaments and social events, and of course we have this new website, and would welcome your views and anything you would like to see on it. We have entered two teams in the Wirral League, in the 4th and 6th Divisions, please check the pages on this site for further details. The teams are open to all club members, particularly the Thursday Friendly matches - If you would like to play in any of the teams please contact Mike. Mike has a full coaching programme planned with summer camps, and of course monthly quiz nights, social events, and the 'Members Bar' will be open every Friday ......... and we also play a bit of tennis. For the first time in many years the club is entering teams in the Wirral Tankard for adults, and a Boys Doubles U18 team are entered in the Monkhouse shield. Their first match was verses Grappenhall, but they subsequently scratched and our boys next play either Glenaber or Port Sunlight. |
