| Welcome to the new Season at Bertram 2009 will see Bertram LTC excitingly moving forward on all fronts - league & social tennis, coaching, a new mini tennis court (Kids Zone), social events throughout the year, and a new standard of professionalism for the Club, as we seek national qualification as a 'Clubmark' Tennis Club. Social 'Friendly'Tennis: Evening Social Tennis (open to all adult members of all standards) began Wednesday 1st April (from 6.00pm) and every Wednesday thereafter. Weekend (Sunday Afternoon) Tennis started 26th April from 2.30pm, with afternoon tea & refreshments. Bring the family along to join in - playing &/or eating ! Wirral League Tennis: Following last years successes, when both Summer League teams achieved promotion, the mixed teams of 8 will be playing every Tuesday from 28th April. Team Captains are Mike Schorah and Paul Evans. Additionally two Men's teams will represent the Club in the Sunday Summer League which started on Sunday 12th April. Team Captains are Paul Evans and Dave Martin. Mixed Friendly matches have been organised & started on Thursday 9th April. Captain Alistair Hamilton. Juniors Boys League - first match was 10.30am Sunday 5th April at Home v. Neston. Junior Tennis Night - started Friday 3rd April. Coaching with Mike Schorah started 18 April (see Coaching page for details). See Summer Camp Page for full details of July and August camps for Juniors 8 -15 years. June Events at the Club: Please be advised that the 'Bertrams Got Talent' Evening (below) has had to be posponed - new date will follow shortly: 'Bertrams Got Talent' : 26th June at 7.45pm - Junior Talent Night. Tennis Clubmark: Tennis Clubmark is the Lawn Tennis Association's Club accreditation programme. Achieving Clubmark means the LTA endorses and supports the tennis programmes we deliver on the courts, and the policies and procedures we have in place off court. These are crucial in assuring we provide a safe environment for junior members and ensures we run the Club professionally to LTA & Sport England standards. It may take us many months to satisfy the exacting requirements, but we have now made the positive step to apply to ensure we have the right Business & Action plans in place to ensure our Clubs continued development for many years to come.
