NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 2008

This is a short newsletter to bring to your attention some events that are coming up in the next week or so. We would like to encourage everyone to sign up to be British Tennis Members. This just in from the LTA :

Don't miss out on 2009 Wimbledon tickets - sign up to British Tennis Membership now. It’s free until 2012!!

·           Bertram allocation of Wimbledon tickets will be based on the number of our club members that have signed up to British Tennis Membership by the 30th November 2008. If you don’t sign up our allocation could be reduced!
·         In addition, you can only enter the Wimbledon ballot in 2009 if you have signed up as a member of British Tennis.
·           If you haven’t done so already sign up now and pass this message on!

   There are also a number of other benefits available to British Tennis Members :

·         Discounts on Davis Cup tickets – why not book to see Murray and the team at Wimbledon this September v Austria.
·         Discounts on tickets to Eastbourne – the men will be there as well in 2009.
·         A TeamCard – where you can collect points through shopping online at Amazon, John Lewis, iTunes and even eBay. You can redeem the points against tennis equipment.
·         Juniors get a great wall chart and competition planner.
·         A rating for the more competitive amongst you.

Playing Matters         After the success of the summer teams, Bertram is entering 3 or 4 teams in Winter leagues. This means we could do with a pool of players who would be willing to put on the mittens and woolly hats to play matches. Quiz nights.         At the club from 8.30pm on the first Friday of the month –
So next is Friday 3^rd October.
AGM        Please make every effort to come to this year’s AGM. Friday 14^th November.
